Comfort in Times of Transition

Comfort in Times of Transition

Below is an Angel Story sent to me by a customer:

It was August and the time had come for my first born to leave for college. The childhood memories started flooding in as I held back tears. You realize that life is one long series of letting go: watching them crawl, walk, run and then drive away. As I looked into my son’s big brown eyes I could see the anxiety building. I wanted to give him something that would take away all of his fears, something that he could keep with him and know he was surrounded by peace, love and goodness. I immediately thought of the My Good Angel key chain that had been given to me. After many hours of unpacking and setting up his dorm room I handed him the key chain. I told him to put it in a place that would constantly remind him to keep the Good around him during one of the greatest experiences of his life. He looked at me confused and said,

“This is yours, I don’t want to take it from you. I know how much it means to you.”

I replied, “I have many Good Angels on hand.”

After returning from lunch, I saw the My Good Angel key chain was hanging on his cork board above his desk. I was impressed that he put it out for everyone to see. As I said my goodbyes I could feel calmness around him. No anxiety, no fear – just surrounded by all Goodness. Needless to say, three weeks into the semester and he sounds amazing, college life is way better than he ever thought possible. As he was hanging up on me to run to his next class he said,

“Mom, by the way, thanks for the My Good Angel.”
